CURRENT PROGRAM DESCRIPTIONS
 
 
MOTOR DEVELOPMENT GROUP - Age 2-6
 
Motor Development – A therapeutic play session focusing on gross motor development activities such as tumbling and stretching. This class also includes general sports skills like throwing and catching. Class is taught by our Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, Heather Crone.
 
Swim Lessons – Teaches basic pool skills for children unable to swim independently. Class is taught by, Charlotte Frazier, a Red Cross certified instructor with several years adaptive swim experience.
 
ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT GROUP – Age 7-11
 
Prep Wheelchair Basketball – Recreational team of both stand-up and wheelchair athletes. This team will be coached by therapeutic recreation specialist, Heather Crone. Coach Heather has coached since the inaugural season of the MASR Mustangs in 2007.
 
Swim Lessons – Teaches basic pool skills for children unable to swim independently. The class is taught by Charlotte Frazier, a Red Cross certified instructor with several years adaptive swim experience.
 
Stroke Development – This swim class is for athletes that already have confidence in the pool and can swim one length of the pool without assistance. It will focus on developing proper stroke techniques and improving water skills. This class is taught by Charlotte Frazier, a Red Cross certified instructor with several years adaptive swim experience. 
 
VARSITY GROUP – Age 12-21
 
10 ft. Wheelchair Basketball – Competitive team of both stand-up and wheelchair athletes. The team will travel to compete in November, January and February. It will be coached by our Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, Heather Crone. 
                                  
Stroke Development – This swim class is for athletes that already have confidence in the pool and can swim one length of the pool without assistance. It will focus on developing proper stroke techniques and improving water skills. The class is taught by Charlotte Frazier, a Red Cross certified instructor with several years adaptive swim experience.
 
Swim Team – This is a competitive team practice for swimmers that can maintain at least one strong stroke for multiple laps in the pool. Competitive travel opportunities will take place in the spring and summer sessions. The team is coached by Karen Assel, a certified swim instructor with over ten years experience coaching swim teams and adaptive swimmers.
 
ALL GROUPS
 
Family Biking – Get out and have some fun together! This is a recreational opportunity for the whole family which takes place at parks around the Memphis area. Call us if you need an adaptive bike.
